Watch Out For Office Pranks

Workers should be on the lookout for plastic-wrapped cubicles and fake resignations this April Fools’ Day. According to a new CareerBuilder Canada survey, 34% of workers said they have been pranked in the office on April Fools’ Day – and 29% admit they have been the instigators. In addition, 42% of workers said that despite economic concerns, they will still play office jokes this year because they feel people need comic relief in challenging times. CareerBuilder Canada named the top most memorable pranks from Canadian workers uncovered in this year’s survey:

1. When making morning coffee in break room, put a whole shaker of salt in it.

2. Put goldfish in the water cooler.

3. People were told to put their chairs on their desk before 10 a.m. because pest control services would arrive then to set rodent traps.

4. Moved someone’s entire office, including desk, computer, posters, wall hangings and phone into the bathroom.

5. Everyone called in sick at five-minute intervals.

6. Crazy glued coffee cup to desk.

7. Wrapped everything in someone’s cubicle in wrapping paper.

8. Had an outside supplier approach manager about wanting to hire all of the people in our department.
