Jamie McMurray won the Daytona 500 yesterday, holding off Dale Earnhardt Jr. in one drama-filled NASCAR season opener. The race at Daytona International Speedway was halted for over an hour with 78 laps remaining while workers repaired a pothole that developed in the track. The hole reappeared 39 laps later, forcing another 45-minute delay. Greg Biffle came in third, followed by Clint Bowyer and David Reutimann. Meanwhile, Danica Patrick’s NASACAR debut didn’t go as well as she would have liked. Patrick was involved in a 12-car crash on the 69th lap of the Drive4COPD 300 Nationwide Series race Saturday at Daytona International and was unable to finish the race. She came in 35th among the 43 drivers.
